M1 - Justify content, distribution and marketing
Marketing And Distribution
With marketing the magazine there are many ways to sell a football magazine as games are often maximum a week apart when the season is active.
Therefore i could go to the stadium every week and sell it either as a private seller or working for the club which will increase sales but not necessarily profit. The theme of the magazine will change each week to ensure customers will by weekly and could even turn it into a collectors item for some. My magazine is a regional magazine as it is targeted at people located in and around Doncaster. Other ways of promoting the magazine might be offering deals such as being entered to a raffle or money to local charities per magazine sold. This will also support the community and give back but also give fans even more of an incentive to purchase it.
Publishing the Doncaster Rovers magazine digitally would be a brilliant way to reach a broader audience and increase readership. With a digital publication, it would make the magazine available to fans all over the world, regardless of their location or access to print copies.
However the argument against doing this could be the fact that the ,magazine is targeted at Doncaster residents and not world wide. However the magazine could also turn into a collectors item or a more football based magazine if the target audience changes.
Additionally, a digital magazine could offer interactive features, such as videos, animations, and clickable links, that would enhance the reading experience and engage readers in new ways. Finally, publishing digitally would allow us to reduce our environmental footprint by reducing the amount of paper and ink used in printing. Overall, I believe that publishing the Doncaster Rovers magazine digitally would be a smart move that would benefit both the publication and its readers.
Another way to attract fans would be to get players of the club involved with the magazine similar to match day programs. I think involving players posing with the magazine or endorsing it on media platforms is a great way to connect the players on the pitch to the fans.
In conclusion, whether is digital, traditional or getting players involved there are many ways to get fans to purchase the magazine and also many ways to improve connections of fans in the club
Target audience
I believe that the key to attracting an audience is to create content that speaks to the interests of our readers e.g football fans and Doncaster residents. One approach we've taken is to feature interviews with players, coaches, and staff members, offering unique insights into the team's inner workings.
In addition I feel incorporating high-quality photos and graphics to make the publication visually appealing would make the magazine feel much more professional whilst still being an old school football magazine. By combining these elements, I'm confident that my Doncaster Rovers magazine offers a compelling reading experience that resonates with fans of the team and helps build a sense of community around the club.
I have chosen a colour scheme of red and white. I will use these colours in a variety of ways, from the background of the mass head to the borders of photos. In terms of fonts, I think a clean, modern font (such as lemon milk) that's easy to read and complements the visual style. I think sans-serif fonts for my headlines and subheadings, while body text is set in a serif font that's both legible and elegant. By combining these design elements I should've created a Doncaster Rovers magazine that's visually appealing and easy to read for football fans, while also reflecting the team's identity and spirit. Football fans don't really care about much other than football so the magazine will be solely on football and will not include anything off topic.
